Secure Import & Residential Delivery of Crated Mining Hardware
Project Overview
A client required the import, container unloading, and final delivery of multiple crated cryptocurrency mining units shipped overseas in a 40-foot container. The cargo consisted of high-value electronics packaged inside reinforced wooden export crates, requiring careful handling during unloading and transfer from container to ground transportation.
The final destination presented an additional challenge: delivery took place on a residential street, requiring careful coordination, controlled unloading procedures, and safe handling of heavy palletized cargo.
Cargo Profile
Each shipment unit included:
- Reinforced custom wooden export crates
- Shock-protected internal packing for ASIC mining equipment
- Plastic wrap and banded pallet bases
- Fragile electronics requiring minimal vibration during handling
- Heavy crate weight requiring forklift unloading
Because the equipment was sensitive and high value, improper handling could lead to hardware misalignment, cooling component damage, or electrical connector issues.
Key Logistics Challenges

Residential Delivery Environment
Unlike a warehouse dock, this delivery occurred on a standard residential street. This required:
- Street-safe unloading procedures
- Controlled forklift maneuvering
- Traffic and clearance awareness
- Protection of surrounding property
The unloading area had limited staging space, so crates needed to be removed and positioned efficiently.

Container Bracing & Securement
Inside the container, the cargo was secured using:
- Custom wooden bracing frames
- Internal structural supports
- Ratchet straps attached to container anchor points
- Stacked pallet configurations to maximize container capacity
These protective measures prevented shifting during ocean transit and ensured the crates remained stable throughout the journey.

Oversized Crate Dimensions
Several crates were taller and wider than standard pallet dimensions, requiring precise forklift placement and slow extraction from the container.
The forklift operator had to carefully:
- Align forks beneath crate bases
- Maintain level lifting angles
- Avoid contact with container walls and ceiling supports
Handling & Unloading Process

Container Opening & Inspection
Upon arrival, the container doors were opened and cargo was inspected to confirm:
- No visible crate movement
- Structural bracing intact
- No water intrusion or damage

Removal of Internal Bracing
Wooden stabilization frames installed during export were removed first to allow forklift access to the crates.
This step ensured crates could be extracted safely without applying pressure to adjacent cargo.

Forklift Extraction
Using a propane-powered forklift, operators carefully removed each crate:
- Forks inserted fully beneath pallet bases
- Slow lift to clear container floor rails
- Controlled reverse exit from container
Spotters monitored clearance during extraction.

Staging & Placement
Once removed from the container, crates were staged on-site for final positioning.
The equipment remained fully sealed inside export packaging, protecting the internal mining hardware from dust, vibration, and environmental exposure.
